Four Seasons

There are four seasons in Canada, these are known as:

Almost Winter
Winter
Still Winter
Roadworks

Now it is March (at -10c with almost a foot of snow on the ground) we have successfully entered the Still Winter season πŸ˜‰

Course, if you are on the West Coast you could amend it as follows:

About To Rain
Raining
Still Raining
When Is It Going To Stop?

Out here in Calgary, when it does rain most folk scurry around like they are going to melt.

Filed under my ‘totally unrelated to anything else’ Friday category. This kind of thing happens from time to time.

Well Peter, it is still winter here in Ontario. An awful ice storm has just passed through cancelling most everything, but then a few hours later it is 2 deg. and the ice has melted leaving broken trees in our garden; however, when you have lived through the icestorm of ’98 this is child’s play. When the whole world is covered in ice it is totally surreal, just like the opening to ‘Superman’.

    LOL!!!
It is STILL RAINING here in the Northwest Peter! It tried snowing for three days, and gave up. Even then it was mixed with Rain, lots of it.
When oh when is it going to stop?

A word form the Lord on this? πŸ˜‰ forgive me for my irreverence…

    Blessings to you!

I heard about the Ice Storm Pauline – probably because it happened in Tronto it was quite prominent in the news πŸ˜‰ We don’t really get that much here. No, what we are getting now is a good old-fashioned Chinook. Drip, drip, drip anybody?

I hate to be disagreeable, but this post was CLEARLY fudged — quite shamelessly — from our traditional four seasons here in the Very Deep South. Here it is Almost Summer, Summer, Still Summer, and Christmas.

There are parts of Canada that enjoy four season, but here in Alberta winter, spring, summer and fall are mere dates on the calendar that remind us we are not one of them. Of course, we have the Rocky Mountains which are either covered in snow, partially covered, only the tips covered, or avalanche season. I’ve just never quite figured out which is when?!

Ah now here on the Isle of Wight we now have:

Warm Autumn (sorry guys – Fall)
    A no snow Winter 😦
    Damp mild Spring
    Mostly dry Summer

at least that has been the pattern for a while, but who knows what will happen this year?

We just have to trust in the Lord and his Creation.
    God bless.

The Island, not the winteryest place. Thought I do remember snow there from time to time…… You want a good channel low!
