Where, O death, is your sting?

For the perishable must clothe itself with the imperishable, and the mortal with immortality. When the perishable has been clothed with the imperishable, and the mortal with immortality, then the saying that is written will come true: “Death has been swallowed up in victory.”
“Where, O death, is your victory?  Where, O death, is your sting?”
1 Corinthians 15 v53-55

Fangless death still leaves a bruise when it bites, but bruises fade. The venom has been drawn through the power of the Cross, for those who live and know the power of Christ within them.

In a world that is so afraid of death, the one enemy we can’t fix, can’t beat – Christians can bring hope.

Outwardly we all perish – Christian and non-Christian alike. Our bodies were born in death, all they can do is die. But for the Christian, inwardly we are being renewed. And one glorious day – when pain, death and hell finally flee away – we will inherit a life that will never fade.

And all things will be renewed. Not just us, but the very creation that currently groans in travail, bound with the same bonds that shackle us. The creation that is with us now as a foretaste, a glimpse of what once was and what will be – redeemed, rebuilt, renewed into a perfect, spotless form.

Just a little while more, and you will see it.

Then I saw a new heaven and a new earth, for the first heaven and the first earth had passed away, and the sea was no more. And I saw the holy city, new Jerusalem, coming down out of heaven from God, prepared as a bride adorned for her husband. And I heard a loud voice from the throne saying, “Behold, the dwelling place of God is with man. He will dwell with them, and they will be his people, and God himself will be with them as their God. He will wipe away every tear from their eyes, and death shall be no more, neither shall there be mourning, nor crying, nor pain anymore, for the former things have passed away.”
Revelation 21 v1-4

“Behold, I am coming soon, bringing my recompense with me, to repay each one for what he has done. I am the Alpha and the Omega, the first and the last, the beginning and the end.”
Revelation 22 v12-13
