This is a word I must bring to you, a word for 2007. Indeed, this is something I have alluded to a number of times before, but the hour grows short, and the word more urgent.
Friends, a storm is coming.
The nature of this storm is not immediately important, although I could make some educated guesses. As a summer storm comes upon you, the air grows sultry, clouds gather, thunder is heard in the distance and lightening can be seen – so it is now.
I see this gathering storm, gathering to break upon us. Many go to and fro, and the old gods, now resurfaced in all their malice and ugliness, dominate our culture. The Lord is not mocked though, and His hand is at the ready.
What is judgment is also blessing, though we will need eyes to see it. As the security of the world is revealed as a false crutch, so will peoples’ eyes be open to their true need. And that, friends, will be our opportunity. For, at present, there are many who have no ‘need’ of God, secure as they are in the wealth of the world. Until, that is, the whole pack of cards comes crashing down. Then the paths of despair or hope will open up before them.
And not just them, but us also. For we are just as entwined in the world. The cathartic action will be painful for us too, more or less, dependant on where we are with the Lord. This then is the counsel for the times: Trust not in what can be seen, but in what is unseen. Put your root down into the Rock of Ages. Then, when the topsoil is stripped away, you will not fall. Rather, you will have the opportunity to be a beacon, a lighthouse in perilous times.
Many will come to Him, if His Church is ready. That is what He is calling us to now. Be ready. Purchase oil that your lamps will not run out. See, the bridegroom is at the threshold even now! Therefore, put away your toys, your vanities, and gird yourself for the times to come. Then your light will indeed shine. Hear the Spirit of the Lord, He is crying amongst the churches! Wake up, wake up! A new day is dawning and you must be ready.

Peter, this is SO right on the mark! We are seeing the same thing, the very samre thing.
What is coming will be our greatest opportunity as the Body of Christ to reach the lost; to walk in the fullness of the power of God with His anointing ; and signs following….
IF and only if we are rooted and grounded firmly in the Rock, Christ Jesus!
Perilous times are coming…. many will fall. We cannot, we must not take this lightly.
A strom indeed is coming and it will shake the western world in ways we can only begin to imagine..
may God give us the grace, the faith to seek Him with our whole heart ; earnestly seek Him and prepare our hearts for wht is coming!

Peter – I would be grateful if you could be more specific about what is happening. I have been reading similar prophecies for a few years now, and live in expectation of what – I do not know. How do these kinds of prophecies effect someone living in say, Kingston. I don’t mean to be obtuse but I was given a word some 3 or 4 years ago (I should write them down) that the four horses have left the heavens. I need interpretation. Thanks. Pauline

Pauline, I wish I could give you specifics. Perhaps others can, I only know that I sense, perceive the storm, without knowing much about what it will entail.
The important thing is that we are aware and prepare. Our God is not about to abandon us – indeed we are forewarned that we might be prepared, not scared. The real fruit of this kind of word is one of repentance, of deeply seeking the Lord, of considering in what ways we are too emeshed in the world, of seeking a different path. That’s the kind of preparation I’m speaking of, which is primarily a spiritual one, though with possible physical consequences.
Course, that’s easy to say, and hard to know exactly what to do. That’s really where seeking the Lord comes in I guess. For instance, we are looking how to be more intentional in church community. His counsel appears to be ‘wait’, to put trust in Him, and not to be shaken. It’s like – this is the Lords plan , His doing, and we are to wait and trust on Him. Easy to say, I know. Lets just say I’m/we’re a work in progress too!
I could speculate as to the nature – and it will be just that. I do not have any specific revelation. With that caveat in mind:
I wonder whether one of the judgments will be economic? If it is, I think it may well be an overnight kind of thing. I guess what I’m seeing is what can be shaken, will be. Those that know their Lord and are known by Him, they will remain firm – for in the midst of calamity we will have the peace of God – we will not be abandoned. Perhaps the judgement will also be in a conflict / terrorist type nature? I really am speculating here! Perhaps there will also be an increase in persecution, in this time of turmoil, as the forces that are barely hiddeen right now use the turmoil to push forward their anti-Christian agenda. I see totalitarianism on the rise.
But within it all – I see such an outpouring of grace! In the physical, things may be grim. That’s why the counsel is to hold onto the things unseen. For He is our Rock and will be in the times to come.
I’m not sure if my rambles are helping much, I hope so.

Thanks Peter. The following is a prayer I put together for the Carol service last Saturday before the Revelation readings. I try to follow my own advice!
Revelation prayer
Lord we thank you once again for the prophetic gift of your disciple John as he writes of the vision of a new heaven and a new earth. Our finite minds cannot grasp the extent of your vision for creation, but we do thank you that one day you will live with us, and that the old order will pass away.
It is not ours to know the time or place of your promised return. We have enough to concern us in the day to day business of living; but we do ask you to help us live lives filled with purpose; watchful and prepared, in expectation, so that we will not be caught unprepared at your second coming.
Help us to model the new Kingdom in a world that lives, but has yet to experience life in all its fullness. In a world that loves, but has yet to meet the source of all love, in a world that forever seeks, but stumbles in it searching.
Help us O Lord, to seek out experiences which strengthen our faith and our relationship with Jesus Christ, and to find in that relationship a way that leads from earth to heaven, a way that leads from time to eternity, a way which leads from things which are visible to things that are invisible, the way that leads to you.
We thank you for the promise that points to a time “when every knee shall bow, and every tongue confess that Jesus Christ is Lord.”
Even so, come Lord Jesus. Amen.

Thanks for your continued postings. I’ve felt that revival is only a short time away, but I had neglected to notice that a storm is likely before that revival. Instead of simple hope, I’m reminded to be not only hopeful, but also prepared. I still am very new to this whole idea of prophecy and don’t have my thoughts together on it yet, but it’s fascinating to learn about and your writings and explanations have helped my understanding of things immensely.

Peter, thank you for your humility and honesty. I am no prophet in terms of foretelling future events. But I have a general sense of tough times ahead, whether it be economic, military, or weather related. Soemtimes I think I’m just being anxious, but others I know tell me theyh have the same sense.
You are right, we do need to repent and seek Christ out in prayer and confession. The easy Christianity of the past will not help us. But in times of distress God will give us more power and insight. In Christ our lot is secure.

Hi Peter, I came here from Andrew’s website. It is a good word.
I was thinking the other day that it feels like we are aboard the Titanic steaming along so arrogant and confident that we could never crash . . . and yet it’s just ahead. Only we don’t know how far ‘just ahead’ is.
The Lord has given us here an assuring word of the security of what he is about to accomplish in the midst of all the coming turmoil. I would like to ask permission before I post it anywhere though since it was someone else’s dream.
It’s nice to hear from another Canadian. We just got home from AB visiting our adult kids over Christmas. When we got back to snow country (West Kootenays) we found another 18 inches or so of powder in our driveway!

Oh, and lastly – 18″ – I wish 🙂 Being a bit of a winter type, that would be just great. AB is, as you know, kind of dry, though we did get 2-3″ the other day, enough to whiten the place up again.

I sense the storm from the Lord will come through his creation: a volcanic eruption, though whether this will be in 2007 or not I am unsure. But I share your concerns and we must reach out to others while there is still time.
We must watch and be aware.
