Yesterday was a perfect winter day. After snowfall on Thursday and Friday, the sun came out, it warmed up to close to freezing and it was just superb…..
Anybody work out how this came to be?

Oh that it would warm up to the near freezing mark. It is currently minus 13 degrees Fahrenheit and is going to warm up today to minus 3 or 4 not counting the will chill. The pictures are beautiful. Nothing like that time right after a fresh snow, nothing quite like it at all.

PS the problem yesterday was with my server. I ended up not being able to email hardly anyone. They all but two came back yesterday and I am yet to know if those two were actually received. Sorry. Susan’s response was great though.

Phil – Well, it’s short lived for us, our temps are very varied (-20c on hour, +10c the next, -20c the hour after, and I’m not kidding!) This week we are going to see see temps dropping down to the -20c’s – so we will be in the deep freeze again 🙂

H Susan – I can only take the credit for some of the pictures, most are down to my better half! Anyway, we got up to 50F yesterday, down to 14F today with freezing rain. Such is Calgary.
I don’t know about the circles – I was hoping somebody could tell me!

Spectacular pictures Peter. We had a couple of days recently with unbroken blue sky, but no snow as you’d expect living on a small island surrounded by sea.
I wonder if that circular/spiral impression is God’s fingerprint! But then the whole natural world is a reflection of His handiwork. Practically, Mike thinks it was caused by a fish or a stone being thrown.

Well, I’m not sure how the stone could have caused it – it was concentric ripples in the ice. If it was human made, it was very well done as it’s very precise. Puzzling……
